Crowns and Scepters

Map of the Great Waste and Northern Realms

Above: The Realms and Kingdoms of Sholan through the Ages

Overview:
The section Crowns and Specters chronicles the kingdoms, empires, and dominions that currently shape Sholan from the First Age to the present Second Age (2250 CRD). Each entry explores the geography, origins, governance, culture, faiths, economies, and relationships in the realms of Ida, Alfra, Duk, and their kin. The histories are drawn from the living record of the Great Cheroth, the Mid Marches, and the shadowed expanse of the Great Waste.

Realms of Record

  • Crowns of the Mid Marches: Central heartland of Sholan.
  • Crowns of the Northern Realms: The realms of the Muriethian.
  • Crowns of the Great Waste: Desolate and scarred lands of the northwest.
  • Crowns of the Sholan Spur: The stony, rugged lands bordering the Mid Marches to the east.
  • Crowns of the Cloud Lands: The hidden lands and the Great Plateau.
  • Crowns of Muran: The legendary subcontinent southwest of Sholan.
  • Crowns of the Mystic Lands: A region veiled in fog and myth, where winds shift borders and reveal hidden sanctuaries.
  • Crowns of the Western Isles: Maritime kingdoms scattered across the open sea.

Purpose of the Archive:
Every crown leaves a shadow. The chronicles within Crowns and Specters reveal how sovereignty, faith, and survival shaped the destinies of the mortal races. They record not only kings and priestesses, but the unseen forces—the Orders, Circles, and Guilds—that guided or corrupted them. These histories serve as a living ledger for scholars, travelers, and storytellers of the realm of Sholan.

“Every crown bears light; every shadow remembers its shape.”
